Jonathan J Edwards FRSA

Included in the prestigious PR Week Power Book of the top 500 influential people in PR within the UK 2009/10 for his business development work, Edwards has 18 years experience in the Media industry

Starting as President of Middlesex University Students, Edwards was Deputy Chair of NUS’s National Council, a Director of NUS Services LTD and a spokesman on Education funding.

Moving to work for this University in 1996 Edwards was trained in Market Research and Market Strategic Planning, culminating in lecturing at the Universities’ Business School in Market Research.

In 1998 Edwards joined global top 10 PR firm Cohn & Wolfe as an Account manager working in the fields of Education and Corporate Communications before being promoted to Head of Marketing and Publicity for the London Office where he worked for global brands including Coca-Cola, BskyB, Glaxo, Delloite, McDonalds, Samsung and Orange.

After 5 years Edwards and change of direction took Edwards to Cunning Stunts as Head of PR with the role of reorganizing the Experiential Marketing Agency, to compete with larger corporates within the field.

In 2004 Edwards set up GID Communications a virtual PR Agency providing strategic creative consultancy for clients including, Rowntrees, Robinsons, Pzier, Gillette, The BSI, Redbridge Council, The French Government, AXA PPP, The OCR and PR agencies Hill and Knowlton, Kazoo, Splendid and Mantra.

In 2009 Edwards rejoined the WPP Family as a director for NFP a Clarion a new venture for the agency, winning praise for his work, not just within the WPP Group but within the media for work for clients including the BSA and Sue Ryder Care.

Trained in CBT which Edwards uses to help corporate clients deal with internal management and communications issues before they face the media, he is often in the media himself as a commentator on media issues for the BBC World Service, News 24 and Radio 5 Live, Sky News and ITN.

Edwards now solely works for the market leader in quality French holiday rental properties, Pure France as director of development and communications and lives between his homes in the Languedoc and The Lake District with his Jack Russell Terrier Brutus.
