The village of Fontiès d'Aude (population 369) lies 15 mins east of Carcassonne, close to the canal du Midi.
All amenities (supermarket, café etc) in Trèbes, 5 min.
Beautiful wine areas of the Minervois, Cabardes, Corbieres and the sparkling Blanquette de Limoux.
The local markets are plentiful and colourful, inspiring for those hot days and warm summer evenings.
All outdoor activities are available in and around the area: tennis, golf, fishing, canoeing, white water rafting, horse riding, bicycle hire, helicopter trips, skateboarding, go-carting and rambling.
The medieval city of Carcassonne, a fascinating world heritage site, a lively evening destination with dozens of cafes and restaurants and outdoor live music during the summer months.
