The property sits in a residential area and is just a 10 minutes walk or 2 minutes drive into the picturesque village of Fitou with numerous wine outlets and all amenities including grocery store, bakery and restaurant and large supermarket.

Mediterranean beaches just 10 minutes away (La Franqui Plage and Leucate Plage) with numerous other beaches with many activities to choose from.

Tourist Tax
Where applicable, Pure France is required to collect and remit local government tourism taxes on behalf of our property owners. These taxes are calculated and collected from guests at the time of booking. Pure France then remits collected taxes to the applicable tax authority on the property owners' behalf.

Location

The property is located in a residential area 10 minutes walk from the centre of the village of Fitou.

The charming village of Fitou is 22 km North of Perpignan (Ryanair airport) and 30 minutes South of Narbonne.

The village itself nestles in a small valley and is world famous for its appellation controlée red wine.

There are numerous wine producing outlets in the village as well as charming café, newsagents, small grocery store and choice of fantastic traditional restaurants.

Choose from many Mediterranean beaches (10 minutes away) and there is also the opportunity to stop at the famous oyster shacks.

Fantastic area for windsurfing and sightseeing; follow the historical Cathar trail or spend the day across the border in Spain (45 minutes away).

Things to do and see include:

- Fitou village has tennis courts, football stadium, pétanque and children's play areas.

- wide choice of beaches with good bathing and many beach bars / restaurants.

- mapped walks and cycling routes plus many water sports.

- Pyrénées, Spain, Narbonne, Carcassonne, Montpellier and the Black Mountains.

- wine tasting and Cathar castles routes.

Spain is 45 minutes away - Barcelona 2 hours.

Andorran ski resorts less than 2 hours.

4 international golf courses within 1 hour.

Spent a wonderful and relaxing 2 weeks in this villa last year and have just booked to return again this summer. The villa is modern, spacious and very well equipped and with internet and satellite it fully met the needs of our teenagers. The outdoor area with pool is beautiful, well maintained and private. The location is within walking distance of the lovely village of Fitou and a short drive to the beaches and many other attractions. Communication with the owner Julie has been prompt, easy and helpful. We would highly recommend this villa and are looking forward to our next visit!

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Fitou, staying in this lovely and comfortable villa. I agree with other reviewers, the pictures do not do the property justice. It is spacious with a very high finish throughout maintaining a very homely feel. Our party consisted of 2 families with 4 kids (6, 6, 2 and 2), they loved it. As for the area, well it's a really special region of France. The location is perfect for day trips to the regions finest attractions (Carcassonne, Collioure, Gruissan etc...) and equally relaxing staying local. Fitou and nearby Leucate Village are charming and the local beaches are lovely, unspoilt and crowd free. There is as much or as little to do here as you'd like. We will certainly be coming back to the area and hopefully to this villa again.

We had a superb 11 day stay in Fitou. Everything was as expected when we arrived - the property has everything you would expect and more when travelling with young children - in our case a 10 month old as well as 2½ year old twins. The car beds were a huge hit with the twins! The village of Fitou is also really nice - there are over 10 wines caves selling high quality local Fitou. There are also some excellent restaurants - would recommend Vidals if you are taking the kids. Outside of Fitou, Perpignan, Narbonne and Carcassonne are all realistic day trip options and the resort of Leucate is also good for a more traditional seaside ambience.

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay here. The villa is light, airy and spacious. It was immaculately clean, comfortable, everything worked and there are beautiful views from the upstairs terrace. The garden is very attractive. We loved having four bathrooms. The booking process was easy and efficient. We were confident that if there had been a problem, Ian, the very pleasant property manager who lives nearby, would have quickly sorted it out. The newly installed Wi-Fi was very dependable. With the restaurants in the village and the beach not too far away we didn't need to travel very far from the house - besides, the garden and pool were too good to leave for long! There are also some lovely walks in the hills behind the villa. The heated pool was the icing on the cake as we could swim on the couple of cooler days too. Even my 85 year old mum went in. We would have no hesitation in recommending this villa and we would love to return.
