St Marcel is a pretty village - easy walk to all amenities including restaurants and bakeries. Two large supermarkets 2 min drive.

Le Somail (2 min drive) is very beautiful group of restaurants on the canal du Midi. A few interesting shops too, including a small grocery store on a barge.

Mediterranean coast just 30 min away; choose from the super, sandy beaches at Narbonne Plage and St Pierre, or the extraordinary, circular coastal village of Gruissan with its stilted beach houses (as featured in 'Betty Blue').
