La Maison Sainte Foy
Introduction
Large maison de maitre dating back to 1805 in the heart of the charming village of Port Sainte Foy, on the banks of the Dordogne river, 20 minutes from Bergerac.
The property has many interesting features including a secret stairway and exposed stone walls.
The main house has 3 double bedrooms and a master suite with queen size bed plus an additional maid's room annexed to the master suite that can be used for a child or a baby.
The 'maison d’amis' has two large bedrooms one with a king size bed which converts to two singles, if required, and the other a queen size bed.
The main house can accommodate parties of up to 6 people including 1 child and the adjacent maison d'amis accommodates 4 people.
The interior of the main house has its original layout and style with exposed stone walls, high ceilings, timber floors and two circular staircases, one leading to the maids room from the kitchen.
The interior of the maison d’amis has been transformed with the construction of a new staircase leading to 2 large bedrooms in what was the loft space. The maison d’amis is approx 220m² and is self-contained and can function completely independent of the main house.
The large grounds are surrounded by a neatly clipped hedge and contain a large swimming pool complete with poolside pergola and furniture.
Port Sainte Foy is a small village but contains all you need; café bar and restaurant and bakery.
Across the river, a 5 minute walk is the bastide village of Sainte Foy la Grande. Here you will find many excellent restaurants, the largest Saturday market in the Dordogne and many excellent shops.
