The local Bastide towns of Eymet, Monflanquin, Villereal and the beautiful villages of Monpazier, Issigiac (with its medieval houses and bishop’s palace), Pujols and Penne d’Agenais with its windy streets and church at the summit of the hill are all within easy drive.
These Bastide towns, so characteristic of the area were constructed as new towns in the 13th and 14th centuries, by both the English and the French when much of the area was English before and during the 100 years war.
The Dordogne River is very good for fishing, canoeing and other activities. There are also many local facilities for riding, golf, tennis and walking.
