Map & local information
The property is located in open countryside 5 - 10 min from the lovely town of Eymet.
In Eymet you will not only have the ease of supermarkets, boulangeries, butchers, hairdressers beauticians but also a tourist information, post office and several banks and estate agents and a few small art galleries. There are also lots of dining options, from a wonderful pizzeria to an elegant and exquisitely delicious restaurant. Cooking at home becomes a pleasure when each Thursday in Eymet you have the farmers market with the ripest of fruits and freshest of produce. You'll find you've bought far too much as it's all irresistible! Indeed you can find one of these markets locally on every day of the week.
Eymet is situated between Bergerac (30 min) and Marmande (the A62 motorway 20 min) and 70 min from Bordeaux.
Ideal base for visits to the Dordogne valley with its world famous pre-historic cave paintings, caverns and pre-historic cliff dwellings as well as the romantic medieval Chteaux of the Dordogne and the 'Bastide' towns (fortified market towns) which remain largely as they were 600 years ago.
World renowned wine tasting is available locally in the Duras, Sauterne, Marmande, Bergerac and Monbazillac areas as well as in Graves and the picturesque medieval town of Sainte-Emillion.
There are regular markets in the local picturesque towns of Duras (Monday), Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (Saturday) and Eymet (Thursday), along with many others in the area. On the first Sunday of each month, the old town of Bergerac transformed into a large antique market.
Bordeaux, with its opera house, art galleries, museums, shops and the lovely broad sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast are little more than an hour away. Moreover, Biarritz, located further south on the Atlantic coast, is still within striking distance of a day-trip.
