Introduction

The chateau dates back to 1815 and is set in the beautiful Gascony countryside within the 'Golden Triangle' of the Gers. An area known for its duck fois gras, Armagnac and prunes. Lovely secluded location, yet close to all amenities and many traditional restaurants.

The Chateau is approached by a long cedar-lined drive, 14 hectares of walled garden and grounds surround this tranquil property which include a 20 x 9m swimming pool, tennis court and private chapel.

The property itself has been fully restored with original features throughout, traditional interior design with period and contemporary furnishings.

The impressive entrance hall leads through to 2 separate sitting rooms and a library overlooking the terrace to the pool and rear gardens.
State of the art kitchen with all appliances, leads onto the terrace which has all weather rattan furniture for outdoor dining.

3 kingsize double bedrooms, 4 singles and a double bunk bed room suitable for children. 4 bathrooms

Large laundry room sous sol with two washing machines and dryers.

Monday to Friday 09.00 - 12.00 housekeeper included.

The estate managers live in the gate-house within the grounds.

All amenities in the local village of La Romieu 4kms away. The Chateau is situated midway between Bordeaux and Toulouse.

Accommodation / occupancy note; Property sleeps 12 comprising max 10 adults; max number of children dependant on ages.

Please note : during the autumn and winter of 2011/2012 an extensive renovation of the ground floor of the chateau will take place providing major improvements and new furnishings. These changes are reflected in the text displayed here but new photos will be available early in 2012. Please be assured that all works will be completed by May 2012 (in time for a family wedding).

Map & local information

The château is situated in rolling Gascony countryside 3 km from the hamlet of La Romieu, almost midway (70 min) between Toulouse and Bordeaux.

This is a beautiful area; surrounded by hills, amid cornfields and vines, at an average height of 82 meters, the region enjoys a micro-climate with lush, luxuriant plants in summer, which even in winter keep most of their foliage thanks to a mild average temperature (about 13°) which is hardly different from that of Biarritz and Marseille in the deep south.

The château is surrounded by open fields and a neighbouring reservoir. The hamlet of La Romieu is ideal for all the daily basics with its General Food store, newsagent / tobacconist, café bar and post office.

The pretty town of Condom is 14 kms away and has excellent shops and all amenities including very good, traditional restaurants.

Lectoure (10 km) also has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Golf at Fleurance, 20 min drive.

Further restaurants and interesting villages to discover in the immediate locale. Comprehensive information and recommendations fully available from the guardians of the château on the estate!

Terms & Conditions

• * Sterling & Dollar rates are provided ONLY as a guide - all rentals are payable in EUROS.
• Prices are for the rental of the entire property above, per week.
• Bookings run from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am and include electricity, water, linen and towels (not beach towels).
• Accommodation / occupancy note; Property sleeps 12, (comprising 10 adults maximum; maximum number of children dependent on ages).
• Daily housekeeping is included in the advertised price; please note that this is not maid service. The housekeeper is only responsible for the general upkeep and tidiness of the property. Full or part cleaning services are available upon request on site, and payable direct to the cleaner.
• No smoking in the property.
