Introduction

Lovely, countryside setting for this delightful holiday accommodation comprising two renovated gites (facing each other) and a large 12 x 6m private pool.

Overlooking the vineyards and sunflower fields, the property is located between Auch and Condom, with all amenities including restaurants, bakeries and supermarkets within 5 - 15 min drive.

Rental rate includes both properties; house 1 with kitchen, dining and living rooms. UK satellite TV. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

House 2 with kitchen, dining and living rooms, UK satellite TV and king-size double bedroom with ensuite bathroom.

Local amenities; Castera Verduzan, 8 km with a small supermarket, restaurants, bakery, butcher, tabac, post office, gift shop, tourist office and pharmacy. Morning market every Sunday. Thermal baths and inland lake with sandy beach.

Vic Fezensac, 15 min with plenty of shops, two supermarkets, several banks and lots of restaurants and cafes. The Tourist Office, just off the main square, is excellent. Two famous festivals running for 3 days - the corrida over Pentecost and Tempo Latino in late July, with concerts and other cultural events. Market day is Friday and there are night markets in July and August.

Property owners live on the estate and are available for help and advise only if required.

The property is located almost midway between Auch and Condom in south-west France.

Castera Verduzan, 8 km with a small supermarket, restaurants, bakery, butcher, tabac, post office, gift shop, tourist office and pharmacy. Morning market every Sunday. Thermal baths and inland lake with sandy beach.

Tennis: Courts are available at Bezolles, Gondrin, Eauze, Condom, Valence and Castera Verduzan.

Leisure lakes: Various inland lakes with many leisure facilities, the nearest is at Castera Verduzan, a 7 hectare lake, in rolling countryside with a sandy beach, canoe-kayak, windsurfing, sailing, supervised swimming, water toboggan, pedalos, dinghies, tennis, surf-bike, archery and volleyball.

Cycling: The Gers is ideal cycling country with many of the places listed being easily accessible by bicycle. Bike hire available locally.

Walking: More than 600 kms of signposted routes for hikers to discover.

Horse riding: Les Écuries D'Armangac near Valance-sur-Baïse offer riding lessons or hacks with an English guide, trips into the mountains, gastronomic excursions and much more.

Canoeing and Kayaking: At Beaucaire on the river Baïse you can take an escorted trip down to Valance and be returned by minibus. There are canoe/kayak clubs situated in Condom and Mirande.

Boat trips: From Condom, you can travel to Valence each afternoon, with a special lunch excursion on Sundays in the season.

Wine tasting: Many of the local producers welcome visitors and will both show you around and provide you with tastings of their products.

Cathedrals, Museums and Gallleries: Auch and Condom provide the setting for most of the sites within the immediate area. Further afield are Toulouse, Agen and Lourdes.

Water Park: Walibi Aquitaine for a full days entertainment for all ages. Special events and shows in the summer.

Antiques Brocante: Selection of shops in main towns from quality antiques to bric-a-brac. Fleamarkets in Fleurance.

"What a beautiful and magical place to stay! The second time around was even better. We can highly recommend the menu de jour at Bassoues - be prepared to have a long lazy lunch lasting at least 2hrs, the food is lovely and the red wine was a great accompaniment. Jo kindly took us to Domaine les Acacias, the local vineyard, which was a great experience.... The Waterpark at Gondrin is also a great place to take the kids, only 4e for adults and 2e for a child. ... The patisserie in nearby Castera Verdeziu is great for buying your croissants in the morning - and they should definitely be dipped in coffee ! All in all, a fabulous place to have a holiday."

We enjoyed some wonderful cycle rides through the countryside, stopping at cafes along the way at Castera Verduzan, Valence sur Baise and St.Puy, and soaking up the quiet, unique atmosphere of the little villages such as Bezolles, Beaucaire, Ayguetine and Rozes.
