The village has all amenities including bakeries, grocery stores, newsagents, banks with (UK card) cash machines, restaurants, waterfront cafés and bars, daily seafood stands. Supermarket 2 mins drive.
Professional windsurfing at Gruissan and further fabulous beaches on the famous Cote Vermaille towards the Spanish border at Collioure and Argeles.
A short hop into Spain for sightseeing or a long weekend in Barcelona. Great walking in the spectacular Pyrenees.
The town of Beziers lies just 15 minutes from the property. Good shopping and excellent choice of restaurants, bars, cultural events and hypermarkets.
Don't miss the street-filled 'Féria' in August, or the weekly flower markets on Friday.
At Cap d'Agde (25 mins): More beaches !! Giant 'Aqualand' waterpark (for children and adults). Cafés and restaurants. Harbour and port. Golf. Bicycle hire. Go-Karting. Watersports. Discos / nightclubs. Boat trips. Casino.
This is wine country. You won't be disappointed. Take your choice from the local famous appellations of Corbieres, Minervois, Fitou or Faugères.
Or the best alternative to Champagne with the amazing sparkling whites from Limoux.
Food enthusiasts will have their appetites whetted with the enormous choice of seafood restaurants, the most famous at Sète or Bouzigues, or try the wonderful oyster shacks with a glass of white wine in Fitou.
On a cultural note, plenty of Cathar trails to follow. See the Roman remains at Ensurene and the spectacle of the circular water system. Carcassonne has to be seen to be believed; its fortified city was the setting for the 'Robin Hood' film.
On a gentler note, there is lovely walking and cycling along the beautifully shaded and tree-lined Canal du Midi. Wine tasting opportunities abound or wile the day away at one of many delightful waterside cafés or restaurants.
If you have any time left, venture towards Provence and experience the incredible Pont du Gard and all the riches that Avignon, Arles and Nimes have to offer. Ideal for a day out.
