The house is located on the edge of a small village called Les Aires in the lovely valley of the Orb River.

The pool in particular is a swimmer's pool as the depth ranges from 1.2 metres at the shallow end to 2 metres at the deep end. Delightful covered terrace with large dining area and BBQ - all serviced by the adjoining, fully equipped summer kitchen with oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher and separate bathroom with shower.
There are beautiful views from the property - there is a viewing terrace at the rear of the
pool area which looks westward up the valley towards the spectacular Mont Caroux - ideal for
watching the sunset each evening.

Local Information
The house is set on the edge of the small village of Les Aires in a quiet residential area.
The village of Les Aires (population 546) is situated amongst the vineyards in the foothills of the Montagnes Noires, 30 mins north of Béziers and between Montpellier and Carcassonne.
The Languedoc is the sunniest area of France and one of the biggest wine producing regions in France and the world. The beaches of the Languedoc are huge and uncrowded - they stretch for miles from Cap D'Agde almost to the Spanish border. The best nearby resorts include Valras and Serignan.
The nearest wine towns include Faugères which is a 10 minute drive away - and produces many fine red wines which are already competing well with the finest Bordeaux wines.
Surrounding the house is the spectacular scenery of the Languedoc National Park and Forest.
All amenities including a superb choice of restaurants and bars are just 2 km away in the Spa Town of Lamalou-les-Bains and in the town of Hérépian.
The charming Spa town of Lamalou-les-Bains has many shops, supermarket, bakeries, newsagents, a casino, and a great choice of café bars and restaurants. There is also a beautifully scenic golf course right by the Orb River and open to the public every day.
Further supermarkets, restaurants and bars are in Hérépian 3km and Bédarieux 6 km.
Restaurants that offer superb cuisine and excellent value are L'Ochre Rouge in Hérépian, Auberge de L'Abbaye (in Villemagne l'Argentiere just beyond Hérépian), Auberge De Combes (for lunch in order to enjoy the fantastic views of the mountains from their terrace), Le Forge in Bédarieux, and Les Marronniers in Lamalou-Les-Bains. All these restaurants get a mention in the Michelin Red Guide.
To work off the effects of the fabulous cuisine, there are many spectacular walks in the Languedoc National Park which surrounds the property. Don't miss the amazing Gorges d'Héric with superb freshwater swimming and kayaking at Tarasac where the Orb river meets the Heric river.
Lake Salagou (25 mins) is nearby for all water sports, freshwater swimming, beaches, lovely scenery. A great alternative to the busy Med beach resorts.
A huge range of Mediterranean beaches are 45 mins drive from the house. There is a huge choice of child-friendly beaches with all activities and entertainments, waterside cafés and restaurants from Valras to Cap d'Agde.
Cap d'Agde is 50 minutes drive away for nightclubs, further beaches, boat trips, casino, theme parks and a large water park, 'Aqualand'.
