Local Information
The villa is located a five minute walk from the small village of Mons la Trivalle.
Mons is situated in the Languedoc National park, 55 minutes north of the Mediterranean coastline near Béziers and is just 5 km from Olargues, which is officially one of the most beautiful villages in France.
Mons has a bakery, café / bar / restaurant, pizzeria, , post office, tabac, small supermarket, bike hire and small tourist office.
The area is a haven for walkers and is ideal for those who want a truly peaceful holiday with beautiful views in a fantastic Mediterranean climate.
The Gorge d'Héric is a spectacular, natural river valley, with amazing scenery and superb, fresh-water pools, ideal for paddling and swimming away from the crowded coastline in the heat of summer. The paths that lead up and down the gorge are very child-friendly and accessible for all types of push-chairs etc.
Elsewhere, the Languedoc National Park offers wonderful walking, hiking and sight-seeing.
Superb wine-tasting all around - this is the largest wine producing region in the world. Most famous is the St. Chinian wine, and the village is just 20 minutes from the villa. Here, there is also a huge, traditional market on Sunday mornings.
Mediterranean coastline is 55 mins away with child-friendly sandy beaches and waterside cafés and restaurants. All water sports are catered for.
Béziers (40 mins) has further choice of restaurants and cafés and has a famous Friday flower market on the tree lined boulevard.
