Recently converted from part of an old vigneron's house in the sleepy village of Poilhes, La Domaine de la Fontaine provides the perfect setting for a truly relaxing holiday.

The building, which dates back 300 years, has been tastefully renovated to include all the modern conveniences expected of a first class holiday home, while retaining many original features.

All amenities in the village including lovely, traditional restaurant ("Les Platanes") with shaded dining terrace.
Surrounding vineyards and Mediterranean beaches only 25 min.

The property is located on the edge of the village of Poilhes (pronounced 'Poyes'), population 535. The village lies in the heart of the Languedoc vineyards on the beautiful Canal du Midi between Béziers and Narbonne. Mediterranean beaches lie only 25 min away.

In the village are two restaurants including 'Les Platanes', with its lovely, shaded dining terrace a café, a grocery store, post office and several daily, mobile stores visit the village selling fresh produce; all within a few minutes' walk from the house.

Also in the village, tennis court and great jogging / fitness trail running alongside the shaded tow-path of the canal.

The village of Nissan (3 min drive) has all amenities and is a very lovely place; banks with cash dispensers, bakeries, wine outlet, further cafés and bars and very good pizzeria restaurant and supermarket.

Capestang, 5 min drive in the other direction with large supermarket & petrol station, bank with 24 hr cash machine, a weekly market, and a selection of other shops, cafés and restaurants.

Fabulous Roman remains at the famous Oppidum d'Ensérune (10 min).

Glorious Med beaches are nearby. Long sandy stretches, super child-friendly and all water sports are catered for. Many beach side cafés and restaurants.

Endless opportunities for wine tasting and a huge choice of fabulous restaurants in the locale.

Hypermarkets and excellent shopping in both Béziers and Narbonne. Cultural events and traditional markets.

Historic Cathar trail with many castles to visit.

The Spanish border lies just 55 minutes away.
