The property lies off a single lane road in a residential area on the edge of the village of Bessan, (not to be confused with nearby Bassan!)

Bessan is a picturesque, traditional village with all amenities within an easy 10 min walk or 1 min drive; bakery, grocery store, café bar, pharmacy and two restaurants. Large supermarket less than 5 min drive.

Street market every Tuesday and Sunday morning.

Mediterranean coast, less than 15 min drive (Vias Plage) with sandy beaches and many restaurants, café bars and amusements for children of all ages.

Pézenas, 10 min, is a beautiful town with numerous pavement cafés dozens of excellent, traditional restaurants. 4 supermarkets to choose from.

Don't miss the famous Saturday market that spills into the streets from daybreak and lasts all day. Discover the many artisan shops in the old quarter, and the kilometer-long stretch of antique and bric-a-brac (brocante) stores.

Marseillan Plage and Serignan Plage foffer good options for quieter beaches, Cap d'Agde for all the entertainments, chic shopping and activities. Here you'll find golf, huge water park, 'Aqualand' (for both children and adults), water sports, boat trips, further restaurants and the Marine Aquarium.

Beziers and Montpellier offer excellent shopping and hypermarkets. Beziers has possibly the best flower market (Fridays) on the Mediterranean coast.

Discover the ocean of vineyards for superb wine-tasting or discover more about the famous southern French aperitif 'pastis' at the Paul Ricard plant in Bessan. Alternatively, the Noilly Prat museum and guided tour of the factory is in Marseillan.

Superb hiking just miles from Pézenas on the Mourgettes footpath, or take a picnic to Lake Salagou for wonderful fresh-water swimming and water sports.

The Gorges d'Heric in the Languedoc National Park offers astounding scenery that will make you forget you are so close to the Mediterranean coast. Head east and don't miss the Pont du Gard on a day trip to Provence; Avignon, Arles and the pink flamingos and white horses in the Camargue. Head west to experience the giant and imposing fortified city of Carcassonne. Alternatively, the beautiful Côte Vermaille and its charming beaches in the shadow of the Pyrenees.

The Spanish border lies just 90 minutes from Pézenas, spend a long weekend in Barcelona (2 1/2 hours).

• Bookings run from Saturday 5:00pm to Saturday 10:00am.
• Neither Pure France nor the property owner are liable for any loss or interruption of internet service.
• Security deposit of 400 Euros cash payable to the housekeeper upon arrival. Fully refundable (if no damages or breakages) prior to departure.
• No smoking in the property.
• Bookings include electricity, water, linen and towels (not beach towels).
