This month we meet a family based in south-west France that rent out their home for a month each summer, allowing them to head off on holiday! Say Bonjour to the Pullens

We rent out:

Our home for one month every summer through rental specialists Pure France, who were recommended to us when we first moved to the area and who helped us find a long-term rental home whilst we were looking to buy. They handle the entire headache of property rental - queries, bookings and deposits - while we just maintain our home and wait for the bookings to come in! Our rental charge is £2,700 per week.

We pay:

Very little. Maintenance costs from renting out the property was not high as we live in the house for most of the year. During the rental period we hire a local cleaner and gardener to look after the house, pool and change-overs which costs us in average €300 (£254) per booking.


We pay our rental agent for each client they secure - their commission, which covers their marketing and booking services, is ten per cent so we see the vast majority of what the client pays. All in all, the whole letting process is pretty painless and means we can enjoy our summer holidays with peace of mind.
