The property is located in 30 acres of its own land in rural countryside, yet a short drive to local towns with their weekly markets, supermarkets and excellent restaurants. The nearest towns are Duras (5 km), Marmande and Monsegur.

The house has been restored keeping the character of the original French farmhouse and combining all the comforts of modern living. 4 double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and 3 twin bedrooms with separate bathroom.

The terrace by the pool is particularly lovely for family dining during the summer months and the pretty garden, with lawns, shrubs and flower meadow is absolutely enchanting.

The fenced swimming pool area is loved by all the family.
There are many delightful walks to explore in the surrounding countryside with a stream running through and a small private, unprotected fishing lake.

This area is known for its unspoilt countryside and charming towns and villages. The city of Bordeaux is just over an hour’s drive away. Bergerac airport is 45 minutes away.

Local Information

La Peyriere is located in the Lot-et-Garonne area near its border with the Dordogne area in the south west of France.

There are two nearby villages for day-to-day shopping each with a butcher, baker etc. Slightly further away is the market town of Duras and Marmande.

Ideal base for visits to the Dordogne valley with its world famous pre-historic cave paintings, caverns and pre-historic cliff dwellings as well as the romantic medieval Châteaux of the Dordogne and the ' Bastide' towns (fortified market towns) which remain largely as they were 600 years ago.

World renowned wine tasting is available locally in the Duras, Sauterne, Marmande, Bergerac and Monbazillac areas as well as in Graves, Médoc and the picturesque medieval town of Sainte-Emillion.

There are regular markets in the local picturesque towns of Duras (Monday), Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (Saturday)and Eymet (Thursday), along with many others in the area. On the first Sunday of each month, the old town of Bergerac transformed into a large antique market.

Bordeaux, with its opera house, art galleries, museums, shops and the lovely broad sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast are little more than an hour away. Moreover, Biarritz, located further south on the Atlantic coast, is still within striking distance of a day-trip.
