The property is situated in open rural countryside just outside the small village of Lauzun, which is 35 minutes from Bergerac, and 10 mins from Eymet.

It’s an easy 15 minute walk to Lauzun (2 mins in the car), and the village has bakery, butcher, pharmacy, café/bar/tabac, hotel/restaurant, bank, post office, etc.

Miramont, 15 minutes drive away, has shops and restaurants, plus a large supermarket, and a local food market on Monday mornings.
Further excellent choice of restaurants also within 15 mins – in Eymet, Issigeac, and Castillonnes.

There is a choice of 3 golf courses within a 40 minute drive, including Chateau Vigiers.
There are tennis courts in the village.
There is horse-riding and fishing within 15 minutes, canoeing on the Dordogne (40 mins), go-karting in Bergerac. Kids will love the Aquapark in Bergerac, as well as the adventure park (Parc en ciel) at Lacapelle-Biron, about 45 minutes away.

The rich history of the area can be seen in the castles at Duras and Biron (both about 40 mins away), and Monbazillac (near Bergerac) where you can also taste the famous sweet white wine.

There are lots of events happening nearby in the summer, including many local markets and night markets, medieval festivals, food and wine festivals, street parties, etc.

The food of the area is renowned for its foie gras, confit de canard, prunes in armagnac, and there are many excellent local wines – with lots of vineyards where you can taste and buy.

In addition the beautiful scenery and famous cliff top villages of the Dordogne valley are only an hour’s drive away.
