The Dordogne area of France is one of the most beautiful and one of the most popular. Lovely countryside interspersed with medieval, bastide towns and fairytale châteaux rise from the morning mist.

It’s a great region for food lovers; all the Perigordian specialities such as Foie Gras, confit d'oie and canard, mushrooms of all types are in abundance.

Bergerac (30 min) was once a flourishing port for the wine trade. It still today has a picturesque harbour where you can take a boat trip along the river Dordogne, or a miniature train ride around the Bastide town, viewing the many half timbered houses with terracotta decoration.

We would like to very highly recommend this grand idillic property in the tranquil rural setting of the Lot Valley.
The quietness and peacefulness of the house and grounds is the perfect place to completely unwind, to read, draw, play boules, table tennis or relax with the family by the poolside area.
The market town of Villereal was particularly vibrant and trips into the Dordogne to Beynac for example is only an hour away. There is an abundance of local wines, and vineyards to visit with exquisite cheeses and bread from the local markets. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday. We have returned totally refreshed and relaxed!
