Local Information
The property is located in the heart of the pretty village of Montsoreau, on the Loire river, 10 min from Saumur.
In the village you will find several restaurants, small supermarket, café bars, bakery, butcher and Sunday street market. Bike and canoe hire.
Saumur has a stunning chateau with wonderful views and you'll find all amenities in the town. Many shops and a huge choice of restaurants and café bars.
The Loire valley is famous for its many châteaux where kings and their courts built an impressive array of stately homes ranging from medieval times through every period and style to the second empire in the mid-19th century.
This area is also known for its wine: Chinon, Bourgeuil or the rich, sweet wine of Coteau du Layon or the sparklings of Saumur. Le Cadre Noir, the classical academic riding school is based in Saumur (8 miles away) and gives gala evenings from April to October.
