Nearest supermarket at Malansac, 5km or Questembert, 12km. Questembert has a good choice of other shops and an excellent market on Monday mornings.

Rochefort-en-Terre is certainly one of the better known villages in Brittany, and probably in France. Beautifully preserved, it is perched on the end of a ridge of the Lanvaux Hills, with views in all directions. The Château, which can be visited, is the highest point and dominates the valley below from a rocky outcrop.
The town attracts many visitors and has an excellent choice of bars and restaurants as well as galleries, craft shops and antique shops as well as being a lovely place to while away a morning in its little side streets and quiet corners.
A short stroll in the other direction from the apartment takes you to the lake and the Moulin Neuf complex, which includes a lakeside restaurant and bar, tennis courts, children's play area, a supervised sandy beach, and a mountain bike circuit as well as a fitness circuit and a network of pleasant walks.
Pedaloes can be hired from the bar and fishing is possible in season with a local permit.
The beaches of Southern Brittany are generally safe and sandy although there are also rocky coves and cliff top walks.
A boat trip to one of the islands off the coast, Houedic, Houat or Belle Isle, would make a good day out which should be arranged in advance in the summer.
Inland this is a particularly pretty area of Brittany with steep valleys, ridges and forests and it is ideal cycling and walking country.
The ridge of the Lanvaux offers wonderful views over the surrounding countryside or you can cycle along the 'Voie verte' an old railway line transformed into a footpath running from Mauron to Questembert, passing by Malestroit and Ploermal on the way, as well as the towpaths on the Nantes Brest Canal (river Oust).
There is plenty to do in this area when the weather is cool as well, including visits to the wildlife park at Branferé and the 'Parc de Prehistoire' at Malansac, full of dinosaurs and Stone Age men (!), both within a short drive.
La Gacilly is another small town famous for its handicrafts. You can watch the artisans at work before you buy, and visits to the nearby factory and herbarium of the perfume manufacturer, Yves Rocher, are also possible.
The city of Vannes with its walled medieval city, its narrow streets, wonderful market and shopping malls, sits at the head of the Gulf of Morbihan, an inland sea dotted with islands, which can be visited by boat.
Further inland the towns of Josselin and Pontivy are worth a visit as is the forest of Broceliande, famous for its tales of Arthur and Merlin, where you can even visit one of Merlin's tombs!
Other places to visit would include Redon, with its canal network and market, Ploermel and the Lac du Duc with its beautiful golf course and a selection of water sports, Lorient and the Blavet Valley and Auray and the medieval, riverside port of St Goustan.
The barrage at Arzal at the mouth of the river Vilaine would make a pleasant evening visit which could be rounded off very pleasantly with mussels and chips in one of the portside cafés while you watch the boats going through the lock.
