The property dates back to the 18th century when it was a very active water mill. ('Paradou' is an old Provencal word for a mill). Now fully renovated in traditional Provençal style, the house offers 4 bedrooms to sleep 8, all with full ensuite bathrooms.
Set back from the (sometimes busy) road into the village of Mormoiron, Le Paradou is set in several hectares, surrounded by vines, olive groves and oak trees. Large, private pool of 12 x 6m with shaded, poolside dining area.
Small, original waterway runs alongside the property; (unsuitable for children under 12)
All amenities in the village, 1km. Housekeepers live within the grounds and are always available if required.
For wine lovers, there is a superb opportunity to associate themselves during their stay with the stunningly beautiful Chateau Pésquié in Mormoiron village. The owners of Le Paradou also own and run the Chateau and its wine production; the wonderfully hospitable and charming Madame Chadière will be delighted to show you around the property and explain how everything works. And then of course you can taste the wine...

Local Information
The property is located in beautiful countryside alongside the main road to Mormoiron. The pretty village of Mormoiron is 1 km away, and 10 km from Carpentras. 30 min drive to Avignon.
Mormoiron has a pizzeria and traditional restaurant, two bakeries, café bar, newsagent, pharmacy and grocery shop and post office.
Neighbouring village of Mazan has further restaurants, bank, café bars, bakery, wine outlets and grocery stores;
Further amenities in Carpentras with huge choice of café bars and restaurants. Great for shopping, and fantastic street market.
The village of Sault (15 min) is famous for its lavender and its around the village that you'll see the famous lavender fields of Provence.
Also not to be missed is a day out to Avignon to discover the winding streets and lovely Provençal shops. Here you’ll find the wonderful ‘Pope’s Palace’ – the former home of the Pope which really is spectacular. And the infamous ‘half-bridge’ !
The lovely Camargue National Park lies close by. You really will see black bulls, pink flamingos and white horses. Many horse and pony-trekking ranches and great choice of Mediterranean beaches.
The Camargue and the fabulous beaches on the south coast are all within easy driving distance.
