Introduction

This charming refurbished 17th century home in the heart of the Poitou-Charentes region offers a peaceful, country setting in a small village just south of the historic city of Poitiers. Oak and limestone floors and original stone fireplaces maintain an authentic feel. Within the expansive grounds is a lovely the maze, ideal for children.

The local village has good amenities all within a few minutes walk of the house.

Spacious accommodation over two floors; ground floor with living room with Wi-Fi internet, dining room, kitchen and twin bedroom with ensuite shower room.

Further three bedrooms on the first floor; master double with ensuite bathroom and family shower room.

Poitiers, ancient capital of Poitou, has a fine Cathedral and life here is centred around the tree-lined 'Place du Maréchal-Leclerc', with its popular cafés and lively outdoor culture, and 'Place Charles-de-Gaulle' to the north, where a big and bustling food and clothes market takes place daily. This mediaeval city is also home to Futuroscope, the European theme park of image and communication.

The Poitou-Charentes region has a magnificent coastline within 2 hours’ drive, and along the way you can enjoy the soothing nature of the Marais Poitevin marshlands which span an area from Niort to the coast at the Bay of l'Aiguillon. La Rochelle is a vibrant port town, and from here you can drive across the 1.8 mile bridge to the Ile de Re. Loire Castles are only one hour far.
