Spacious accommodation spread over three floors; ground floor with fully equipped kitchen and utility room, living / dining room, TV room (Wi-Fi internet), library, bar and banqueting hall. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

NOTE: Property owners live in separate, independent accommodation on the estate and are available only if required for help and advice. Horses, sheep and other livestock on site.

Map & local information

The property is located in open countryside between Fromental and La Souterraine and the main towns of Chateauroux and Limoges.

Local café and bar 5 min. All amenities in La Souterraine, 20 min with restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries etc.

Horse riding with instructor 15 min

Limoges: (55km), the closest large city has two interesting cathedrals and, being the home of French porcelain, a number of factory tours from the various manufacturers still based there (with shops attached). You can also visit the mediaeval butchers' district built in 1471 with its half-timbered buildings or stop for lunch at one of the many restaurants in the city centre that offer world famous Limousin beef.

Oradour Sur Glane (45km): the martyr village, now an important national monument and a reminder of the horrors of war. An interactive visitors centre clearly explains the facts in English and French.

Other towns of interest close by include: Montmorillon (28km), known as the 'city of writers', St. Savin (45km) with its Abbey church and 11th and 12th century murals (listed since 1983 as a UNESCO world heritage site) and Poitiers (75km). Called the city of a hundred bells it has a combination of interesting architecture, a wide range of shops and the high-tech Futuroscope park located to the North.

Activities: if you want to expend some energy there are plenty of activities located close to us. The regional kayaking centre is at Lathus (13km) and apart from being able to canoe down the Gartempe river, they also offer white water rafting, horse riding, rock climbing and archery. An 18 hole golf course is at St. Junien (45km) which has a welcoming club house and is set in a stunning natural park.
