Location

The property is situated in open countryside almost midway between Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (5 km) and Saint-Étienne-du-Grès (3 km).

2 lovely restaurants less than 10 minutes walk.

Saint-Étienne is a picturesque small village with a bakery, butcher and restaurants.

Saint-Rémy is one of the loveliest towns in the whole of Provence. All amenities and huge choice of traditional restaurants and pavement cafés and bars. Magnificent tree-lined boulevards and winding streets make this one of the most sought-after towns in France.

Unmissable street market every Wednesday.

The countryside surrounding Saint-Rémy is quite beautiful and typically Provençal; garrigues full of wild herbs and olive trees.

One of France's premier tourist attractions, Les Baux lies just 10 minutes away; an 11th century village built into the rocks.

The Roman town of Arles is also only a 10 minutes drive. Many Roman and Romanesque monuments are still in use today; the amphitheatre provides the setting for bullfights and concerts, and what remains of the theatre plays host to formal concerts and traditional folk festivities throughout the year. The Cathédrale Saint-Trophime, with its magnificent doorway depicting the Last Judgement carved in stone and its beautiful cloisters, is open to the public for visits and Sunday services.

The necropolis, or Alyscamps, is today a narrow, tree-lined avenue, located just outside the old town.

Many lovely restaurants and pavement cafés. Van Gogh spent two years of his life here, so there are many related tours and souvenirs to be found.

Arles also boasts one of the regions finest markets every Wednesday and Saturday. Overflowing with Provençal goodies - fruits and vegetables, lavender products, soaps, olives, flowers, honey... The list is endless and makes the Arles market an event not to be missed!

Also not to be missed is a day out to Avignon to discover the winding streets and lovely Provençal shops. Here you'll find the wonderful 'Pope's Palace' - the former home of the Pope which really is spectacular. And the infamous ‘half-bridge’!

Spectacular, fortified town of Aigues-Mortes 40 minutes.

Just over an hour to the Mediterranean coast (lovely beaches and town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer).

For wine lovers, this is paradise; domaines and tasting almost on every corner.

The lovely Camargue National Park lies close by. You really will see black bulls, pink flamingos and white horses. Many horse and pony-trekking ranches and great choice of Mediterranean beaches.

Thank you so much for this wonderful week! We enjoyed it very much! We will be back!

Michelson, Davis and Cohen families
Our second visit, so it's farewell again to the morning chorus of cicadas and the very protective front gate. A wonderful two weeks of not-too-hot sunshine, family members engaging with each other, good food (including some first class home cooking). Au revoir et à la prochaine!

The Meagher family
We had a lovely time in your home in Provence. We spent many memorable days by the lovely pool which we enjoyed so much. The early morning table tennis tornments were epic! We look forward to visiting again and exploring more of the region.

Sally R. and friends
We had a wonderful week staying in your beautiful farmhouse. You have put su much thought into making the house a very comfortable place to stay for such a large group of friends. As foodies, we appreciated the well-stocked kitchen which made cooking so easy. Thank you for your excellent tips on places to visit and local restaurants for eating out. We all loved the Friday market and then coming back to watch Wimbledon in the cool TV room.

The B and D families

Thank you for a great week at Maison Rousty! The house, gardens and pool were appreciated by all of us. We had an amazing day in the Camargue, 4x4 Jeep safari highly recommended, and lunch in Arles and the Arena made for a great family day out. Avignon, the Pont du Gards and Châteauneuf du Pape together made an interesting and fun day out. Thank you Sandra for recommending Carrières de Lumières - a must! We followed this by a final dinner out at L'Aile ou La Cuisse which was delicious. Sandra has gone out of her way to be helpful and accommodating - thank you very much. Provence has once again proved to be a great base for a holiday.

Family Mayer
Maison Rousty is a beautiful house and the place to be. We enjoyed very much the different places to be around the house. The kids spent hours around the pool while we tasted wine and oil of the area. The horse riding in the Camargue was fun. The market in Eygalières lovely.

Jane and Martin K.
Thank you for having us in your beautiful home. We couldn't have imagined a better first trip to Provence. The home itself was perfect! So much space, comfortable beds and the grounds were great for the kids adventures. Our last day was the perfect pool day, punctuated by a wonderful dinner cooked by Catherine. We really appreciated the concierge service- having bikes for the kids to explore with (the bike to the olive oil farm was a highlight!) and your dinner recommendations were fantastic. All and all we loved our stay, loved Provence and hope to be back in the near future.

We have enjoyed a very memorable time, and it was made more so by our accommodation! Very comfortable, quiet and close to a lot of amenities, as well as great walking places. Thanks again!

We've had an absolutely wonderful stay at Maison Rousty. The house has such a great energy, its been a struggle to leave for daily excursions in the area. We've also been extremely comfortable - always important. We hope very much to be able to return to complete some of the sightseeing that got neglected this time round.

We spent a very enjoyable family holiday (4 generations) in this wonderful house. Provence is a part of France we will never forget. Sandra, thank you for everything.

Fabulous time, amazing house and pool. I'm sure we will be back.

In the words of our kids... "this place is amazing"! Thank you for a fantastic welcome to the beautiful Saint-Remy. We had a fantastic family holiday.

"Best ever family holiday" in your beautiful villa to celebrate Doug' 70th. Thank you Sandra for organising our delicious first meal, finding us wonderful restaurants, and helping Doug book taxi and flights to London. We appreciate all your hard work. There will be tears when we leave, and we will dream of Mas La Belugo in the long Scottish winter months. We would love to come back.

Lovely stay in a beautiful holiday house which felt just like a home! Lovely comfortable beds too! Thanks for all your help and attention to detail Sandra.

This was our second stay at this lovely house. We had a super time even though we had a lot of rain.

First guests of the season! A beautiful home in a beautiful venue. Lovely time with a large group of friends to celebrate Frank's retirement. A perfect place to start life after work.Thank you for everything - much appreciated.

We are a Canadian family of 10, including 3 generations and this was a long planned celebratory family vacation in Provence. This home is very centrally located and yet beautifully quiet and secluded. The pool and grounds were really well kept and very much enjoyed, as it was very warm weather. The decor is very tasteful, and also comfortable and relaxed. We could take lots of wonderful day trips and within 15 min to 1 hour be in St Remy, Les Beaux, Gordes, Avignon, Arles, and Aix en Provence, as well as other surrounding points of interest and small towns. The markets were great fun. Sandra arranged an excellent cook for us for the few evenings we wanted and we also enjoyed picking up our own provisions and cooking ourselves in the modern and well equipped kitchen. The local French produce, cheeses and wines are so fresh and delicious and easy to find. Sandra was very helpful in recommending markets and restaurants. Also if we had any questions Sandra was extremely responsive. An electrical storm caused a problem with the stove top and she had it repaired immediately. We also found it was great to have 2 master suites with air-conditioning as this made it easier for the 2 babies to nap and sleep. When we were there, one week was unusually hot but we were able to keep the 'Mas' cool by closing shutters during the day and opening them up in the evening when the air cooled considerably. We loved dining 'al fresco' outside every night in the lovely outdoor dining area. And the dining room inside is great also with lots of room for all. Other conveniences included 2 large fridges which accommodated all our needs as a family of 10, as well as excellent laundry machines so we could refresh our clothes and towels easily. The housekeeping help were also very pleasant and thorough. We felt very well cared for and had a fabulous time relaxing and enjoying the sound of the cicadas as well as exploring so many wonderful historical sites and natural treasures such as the Camargue bird sanctuary with flamingos, fields of sunflowers and lavender, the wonderful plane trees lining so many roads, the Luberon valley surrounded by mountains and huge rocky outcrops - all made this trip full of great memories and wonderful experiences that delighted all the senses. It was also so easy to travel there by high speed train from Paris, pick up cars at the train station, and we were there within 30 minutes settling in. We would highly recommend.

What a fabulous holiday home - an amazing find. The owners are great and supportive and have done a brilliant job of maintaining this lovely, sizable holiday home. The house itself is clean, stylishly furnished and contains everything you need. The owners have really thought about what a family needs and have done their best to provide a comfortable and easy living experience. I highly recommend this property to anybody looking for something great!

Three generations of our family spent a magical week in this beautiful house. It was everything we hoped it would be. We couldn't have chosen better! Fully equipped kitchen, luxurious bathrooms, comfortable beds, perfect location for trips to the surrounding towns, villages and attractions. Swimming pool - which we made use of every day. I would recommend it to anyone and would go back in a heartbeat!

When I first saw this property on the website, I knew I wanted to spend my 40th there. When I arrived, I didn't expect to be even more taken a back by it's beauty. This house was absolutely perfect for my group, with three different eating areas, and well positioned bedrooms. The house is located in a quiet area off the beaten track, but still close enough to the town, and vineyards. The property was very clean and well maintained. I definitely would love to book this house again, it really is a gem in amongst the French countryside.

We spent a week as a family of three generations in Maison Rousty and had an absolutely wonderful time. The house is beautifully decorated with lots of little touches that make it feel like a home rather than a rental property. We spent a great deal of time by the pool in the lovely gardens which surround Maison Rousty and which are all very well maintained. We enjoyed barbeques in the evening sitting in a perfect spot close to house from which to soak up the last of the evening sunshine. The owners, Sandra and Andrew could not be more helpful. We had email correspondence before our arrival with directions from the airport, various tips on the nearest supermarkets and restaurants, and Sandra arranged for a taxi to pick up our son and girlfriend in Marseille as they were joining us a day later. We were greeted warmly at Maison Rousty by Sandra who showed us around and supplied a handbook of recommendations for the area. She was always available by telephone for any question we might have which was a great help. Maison Rousty is close to many attractive places to visit such as St Remy with its wonderful market, Avignon, Nîmes and Les Baux but once you are behind the gates it is hard to tear yourself away from the sanctuary of the house. One week was definitely not long enough and we hope to return soon! Until then we all have wonderful memories of our time at Maison Rousty.

We've had a wonderful week staying here and taking day trips to Arles, Nîmes, Orange, Isle sur la Morgue, Les Bories, Oppede le Vieux, Menerbes, La Coste, Vaison La Romaine and more. Each night, we slept well in the quite - absolute quiet. Each morning, we enjoyed our breakfasts here (with espresso cups and every other kitchen item we needed at hand). And each evening we strolled the gardens, drank the local wines, cooked what we pleased, and felt comfortable and "at home". We appreciated the welcome we got from Andrew and Sandra, the gift basket, the well-stocked home from teas to tissues, from soaps to candles) - and the fact that everything is well maintained and, even, well-explained. So... a stylish place to stay... which we truly enjoyed and which we will recommend. Thank you!

We came from faraway to Provence for a stay. We enjoyed the pool and Mas La Beluga. Savoured amazing local food and wines. Explored far and wide. We are sad to leave but will take with us wonderful memories. Thank you Sandra and Andrew for your kind hospitality.

I wanted to let you know directly how much of a success staying at Maison Rousty was. We had a great time. The house itself was lovely – whilst keeping its Provence charm it was also extremely comfortable / modern inside. Similarly the pool area was perfect combining a decent amount of outside space to allow the children to run around etc. It has been very nicely done and well thought through. Perfect for both adults and young children. I would also remark that Sandra was extremely helpful throughout. It is also worth noting that the guide book that came with the house was very helpful. I think we all felt it went that Sandra went the extra mile. I will come back regarding next year.

We know we would stay in a nice house in Provence. Little did we know that we would live in a wonderful home with a soul. So many of the personal touch make us feel like family. We enjoyed each restaurant - for different reasons. Thank you for the great suggestions. I hope you will get to meet others from our area in California - we can't wait to share our experiences. Thank you. Thank you for paying attention to every detail - you're amazing.

Your home is just beautiful! Thank you for 'loaning' it to us! Everything was outstanding. Your home, your help with dinners, food details in 'book' and restaurants suggestions. We were spoiled 'guests'. Our trip to Provence has been 'magical', thank you both!

We have had a spectacular week. The house has worked so well for the 8 of us.you have been an immeasurable help in getting restaurant reservations, our chef Catherine, and answering all our questions. We've enjoyed our rooms and baths, the wonderful kitchen, the delightful pool, and watching the stars come out at night. Being here in this lovely place with our friends has been "the stuff dreams are made of"!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Your home is absolutely lovely - everything here that one could ask for. We appreciated your culinary assistance and insights: the restaurants recommendations were perfect and we loved Catherine's dinners at "home". We really experienced a "taste of Provence". Sincerely.

What a fabulous house and what a fabulous holiday we have had! Thank you.

We had 5 weeks in this lovely and comfortable house. Each week we had friends or relatives come to stay, and the house worked beautifully to have another family to stay. The photos are very realistic and the house is light, cool, tastefully furnished and very comfortable (with good showers etc). It is extremely well equipped. The location is great-- near lots of wonderful restaurants, (michelin quality) and also near vineyards and a sensational canal/waterfall lined tow path (stunning for cycling into St Remy, or going for a jog). The owner, Sandra, is British but fluent in French and with superb local knowledge (as she lives very near by) of the restaurants to go to, activities for the kids, and having her to book things resulted in better service and a warm welcome wherever we went. Thoroughly recommend this property - great to share with friends, wonderful location and sophisticated amenities.

S Gluyas - Australia
Maison Rousty is the perfect "home base" for exploring Provence – a private haven to escape to after sightseeing. The house has been renovated to a high standard and there is great attention to detail in every room – including air-conditioning in the two master bedroom suites! The grounds, including the front garden and the expansive pool area, are possibly more beautiful than the pictures portray. However, what makes a stay at Maison Rousty so special is the commitment of the owner to ensuring that you have the best vacation experience possible. Whatever it is you want, Sandra is only too willing to help… In our case that ranged from catering, restaurant bookings and organising horse riding for children. Her generosity of spirit combined with an excellent local knowledge was much appreciated and will not be forgotten. This type of service is not always forthcoming when renting vacation properties in any part of the world.

Many thanks again for your hospitality and care during our stay. It has been the perfect home away from home and a large pool is ensuring that our time in St Remy has been the magical experience we had hoped for. Everything has been brilliant!

The house is everything it appears to be - large, warm, well furnished, comfortable, and perfectly located for accessing all of Provence. But, the best asset of this property is its owners, Sandra and Andrew. I can't imagine an owner who could possibly try harder to make sure that your rental is everything you hoped it to be, and more. Particularly with respect to restaurant recommendations, Sandra is right on the mark - her every suggestion proved to be exceptional. Rent her house, follow her advice, and you will have the vacation of a lifetime!

I can't say enough good things about the house and location. I have rented various properties over the years but have never rented a more well-equipped property than this one.
The bedrooms were generous with crisp linens, lots of hangers and very inviting. The bathrooms were new with good showers or tubs if preferred, and the kitchen was well-designed with an abundance of china, glassware, silverware and pots and pans. The many other kitchen utensils that a cook loves to use, were plentiful, as the hosts had thought of everything. A washer and dryer was convenient to have and we made good use of it with a toddler in the house.
I would truly recommend this property as a fantastic get-a-way, you truly feel that you're having a vacation. The hosts were incredible!

Beautifully renovated, spacious, clean, wonderful bedrooms for everybody, and a very spoiling master suite (great shower!). We also especially loved lunch outside (near the kitchen). The owner was more than extremely helpful. The pool was very private, quiet and totally relaxing.

As soon as we entered the drive to the house we all agreed it was superb. From the garden layout to the entrance we were mightily impressed. The house looked immaculate from the outside, and on entering the house we were delighted with the decor, furnishings and wonderful kitchen with great appliances including a steam oven! All mod-cons and lovely crockery, glassware and cutlery - we could not have chosen better. The owner was very welcoming and had prepared a book of instructions and helpful hints, along with favourite restaurants, sightseeing - in fact they had unwittingly planned our whole stay! The mid-week clean was done well and the garden and pool well maintained. I would very reluctantly recommend this gorgeous house to anyone although I'd really like to keep this gem to myself!

A beautiful property in a fantastic location. The ground floor bedroom with bathroom was ideal for my elderly father. The sumptuous master suite provided privacy and space and the remaining 3 bedrooms were equally as comfortable and well appointed. The entire house has been creatively styled, providing lovely surroundings to stay inside and read or relax if that is a chosen activity. The kitchen is really well-equipped and a good space for a group to prepare meals.

The house is beautiful, spacious and comfortable - especially great if you have more than one family staying. It is far and away the best - equipped holiday house I've ever stayed in. The pool and garden are gorgeous, and there are two separate areas for eating outside; ideal for BBQs and lazy lunches. Sandra was extremely helpful throughout our stay, and a delight to deal with. Highly recommended.

Everything was of a very high order. The house was exceptionally well equipped (even including different colour plastic cutlery-plates for children) and everything was of a high quality. The owners were very helpful and were always available if needed. Our party consisted of three generations (six adults, two toddlers and a five year old) and there was ample room for all. We have no hesitation in recommending this property.
