Introduction

A very charming and high quality, traditional-style, contemporary home sitting on the banks of the pretty Dronne River.

The architect-designed house has all accommodation and terraces looking out over the garden to the slowly meanadering river. Upper ground floor has open-plan living room, dining area and large kitchen, all opening out to a large, Périgordian balcony with seating and tower dining area.

Downstairs is a TV room with UK channels and Wi-Fi and four lovely bedrooms; three ensuite plus family bathroom. Doors lead out to terrace and garden area.

Private, heated pool 11.5m x 3m with sun terrace and loungers.

Local village of Bonnes is particularly classy and picturesque with local restaurant, bakery and café.

The property is situated on a small lane on the edge of the village of Bonnes, 20 minutes from Riberac, 60 minutes from Périgueux and 80 minutes from Bordeaux.

Local amenities are an easy walk away (approx 10 minutes) with bakery, café bar and restaurant. Two châteaux.

Further amenities, including supermarket and more café bars and restaurants in Aubeterre, 4.5 km.

All shops and more restaurants in Riberac.

Hypermarkets and all shops in Périgueux.

Discover the Bordeaux wine region nearby. Best port of call is the fantastic and famous wine-producing town of Saint-Émilion, 55 km.

Great day out to Bordeaux with its cultural sites and superb city centre.

Picture perfect location ! The river Dronne provides the most peaceful backdrop as it flows past the garden with fish jumping and swifts skimming the surface. The garden is beautiful and just sitting on the riverbank became our favourite pastime. The house combines hi-tech modern luxury within a beautiful traditional exterior – a rare combination!

We absolutely loved staying in this house. Bonnes is a lovely village, in our opinion even nicer than its more famous neighbour Auberterre. The historic châteaux and the pastel-painted shutters of the ancient houses, smothered in wisteria are the perfect backdrop. We ate in the café/bar a lot and the kids loved the pizzeria. (Try the home-made chocolate Madeleine cakes from the bakery!) The house had all the kitchen and other equipment we could have wished for and we loved the quirky pieces of furniture, though spending time relaxing outside on the terrace with the fabulous view took some beating.
