Introduction

This superb Maison de Maître with its classical facade is situated in the lovely central square of one of the prettiest villages in the Dordogne.

Hidden behind the house is a 4,000 m² private walled garden with mature trees, long shaded paths and a large lawned garden with a private, heated pool 12m x 6m with automatic cover.

Pool-side deck with sun loungers, tables and sunshades.

A covered terrace that stretches the full-length of the rear of the house provides a sheltered area for sitting, with dining furniture for 12 people.

Play areas for children including table tennis, boules and a swing.

High quality interior furnishings and decoration. Living accommodation is over three floors; ground floor with two living / TV rooms, dining room, fully-fitted kitchen, and summer kitchen.

Four bedrooms on the first floor, two with ensuite bathrooms and two with an interconnecting family bathroom.

Two large double suites on the second floor, both with ensuite bathrooms with Jacuzzi baths.

All bathrooms have two basins, baths, separate shower, and WC.

Wi-Fi internet throughout the house. UK satellite TV channels.

Separate vehicle access from the main road via secure electric gates with ample parking for cars within the grounds.

Saint-Jean-de-Côle boasts a small supermarket with daily deliveries of fresh bread, croissants, etc., a good pharmacy, a hair-dresser, a restaurant, and two cafés.

All the usual amenities in the thriving town of Thiviers (7 km.), which has a its market every Friday, and in Brantôme (20 minutes by car,) which is a hugely pretty town celebrated as "the Venice of the South West

", known for its lovely restaurants and café bars.

There are other tables and chairs for relaxed sitting or dining under the trees.

Private, heated pool 12m x 6m with corner steps and sun-deck with 12 loungers. The pool has an electrically operated hard cover for security and night insulation, and is fully enclosed. Access is up steps and through lockable gates.

Children's play area. Swings, table tennis and boules.

A tennis court is available for hire within the village and rackets and balls are provided in the games room.

Tourist Tax
Where applicable, Pure France is required to collect and remit local government tourism taxes on behalf of our property owners. These taxes are calculated and collected from guests at the time of booking. Pure France then remits collected taxes to the applicable tax authority on the property owners' behalf.
For this property tourist taxes are due between 01 January and 31 December and will not exceed € 0.55 per adult per night.


Location

The property is situated in the beautiful central square of the pretty village of Saint-Jean-de-Cole, which is classed as one of the 'Plus Beaux Villages' in France. While the front of the house faces the historic church and château, the rear is secluded and looks out over the surrounding countryside, as can be seen on Google Earth.

Saint-Jean-de-Côle boasts a small supermarket with daily deliveries of fresh bread, croissants, etc., a good pharmacy, a hairdressing salon, a tourist office, and 5 restaurants.


All the usual amenities are found in the thriving town of Thiviers (7 km), which has four supermarkers, and a popular market every Saturday.

Brantôme, (19 km, 18 minutes by car) is a very pretty town celebrated as "the Venice of the South West”. It has many excellent restaurants, and a popular market on Fridays.

Périgueux (33 km, 38 minutes by car) is the capital town of the Dordogne - a mid-size, bustling place with a fine Cathedral, medieval and renaissance squares, and many traditional restaurants and markets. Best eating places are around boulevard Montaigne, rue Limogeanne and the Place Saint-Louis.



There are many historic Châteaux and sites in the area, and the famous caves paintings at Les Eyzies, the Vézère valley, and Lascaux are easily reached by car. The closest cave system is Le Grottes de Villars (10 km, 12 minutes by car). Full details of places to visit and activities are available at the tourist office.
