Tourist Tax
Where applicable, Pure France is required to collect and remit local government tourism taxes on behalf of our property owners. These taxes are calculated and collected from guests at the time of booking. Pure France then remits collected taxes to the applicable tax authority on the property owners' behalf.

Location

The property is situated on a no-through-road in a residential area of central Pézenas.

Pézenas is one of the most sought-after Languedoc towns between Montpellier and Carcassonne, 20 minutes from the Mediterranean coast.

2 minutes walk to the centre of Pézenas.

Pézenas prides itself on its past; reflected in its fascinating winding streets and period architecture. Often called the 'Versailles' of the Languedoc, summer visitors are treated to a feast of festivals, costume dramas, concerts and exhibitions.

Alternatively, take your pick from the numerous pavement cafés and watch the world drift slowly by before retiring to any one of the dozens of excellent, traditional restaurants. 4 supermarkets to choose from.

Don't miss the famous Saturday market that spills into the streets from daybreak and lasts all day. Discover the many artisan shops in the old quarter and the kilometer-long stretch of antique and bric-a-brac (brocante) stores.

Sunny, sandy Mediterranean beaches lie just 12 miles South of Pézenas. Beachfront cafés, seafood restaurants and all the glamour and glitz of summer in the South of France.

Marseillan Plage and Sérignan Plage for the quieter beaches, Cap d'Agde for all the entertainments, shopping and activities. Here you'll find golf, huge water park, 'Aqualand' (for both children and adults), water sports, boat trips, further restaurants and the Marine Aquarium.

Béziers and Montpellier offer excellent shopping and hypermarkets. Béziers has possibly the best flower market (Fridays) on the Mediterranean coast.

Discover the ocean of vineyards for superb wine-tasting or discover more about the famous Southern French aperitif 'pastis' at the Paul Ricard plant in Bessan. Alternatively, the Noilly Prat museum and guided tour of the factory is in Marseillan.

Superb hiking just miles from Pézenas on the Mourgettes footpath, or take a picnic to Lake Salagou for wonderful fresh-water swimming and water sports.

The Gorges d'Héric in the Languedoc National Park offers astounding scenery that will make you forget you are so close to the Mediterranean coast. Head East and don't miss the Pont du Gard on a day trip to Provence; Avignon, Arles and the pink flamingos and white horses in the Camargue. Head West to experience the giant and imposing fortified city of Carcassonne. Alternatively, the beautiful Côte Vermeille and its charming beaches in the shadow of the Pyrénées.

The food was lovely, the beach 20 minutes away was nice and quiet and our children absolutely loved it there as well as enjoying the lovely and very warm pool! Thanks for a lovely week in your fabulous holiday house, it was very kind of you to let us arrive early so we could easily visit the market. It was quite entertaining seeing the gendarmes trying to organise the market day traffic (and the usual bonkers French parking!) We have stayed in quite a few properties in the South of France but not managed to find somewhere that was both walking distance to a nice town and a high spec house. Yours certainly ticked both of those boxes. Especially with the weather not being on our side, we spent a lot of time in the house and really appreciated all of the luxury living area and kitchen features. The kids loved the pool (and it did stay at 26 degrees!), so we did manage to venture in almost every day, much to the amazement of some of the locals! Thanks also for all of the information and recommendations that you and Lisa sent through before and during our stay. It was very much appreciated and hugely helpful.

A stunning villa perfectly set up and loved by our children. The extra touches like coffee machine, Lego for the boys to play with, a bottle of champagne to welcome us on arrival were excellent. The boys loved the heated pool, walking into town for bread / croissants in the morning and lunch on the terrace. Some excellent restaurants in town including Chez Paul, Maison Conti, La Ripaille, Les Palmiers and La Pomme d'Amour. The Pedahorail is not for the faint hearted. Had a lovely holiday. Thank you!

Had a great fortnight in Les Sphynx de Pézenas. Everything you want really. Recommend Chez Paul, Les Entre Pots and Ou es tu Ginger (veggie food) in the local area to eat. Marina Bay at Marseillan Plage - great food and lovely views. All in all a great location and house.
