The property is situated on the edge of Saint-Front-sur-Lémance in the Southern Dordogne, between Fumel and Belvès.
Bakery in the village, all amenities in Sauveterre (2 minutes drive), lovely countryside all around with excellent shops, restaurants and supermarkets in Fumel, Belvès, Beaumont and Monflanquin.
The Dordogne area of France is one of the most beautiful and one of the most popular. Lovely countryside interspersed with medieval, bastide towns and fairytale châteaux rise from the morning mist.
It's a great region for food lovers; all the Périgordian specialities such as Foie Gras, confit d'oie and canard, mushrooms of all types are in abundance.

Bergerac (50 minutes) was once a flourishing port for the wine trade. It still today has a picturesque harbour where you can take a boat trip along the river Dordogne, or a miniature train ride around the Bastide town, viewing the many half timbered houses with terracotta decoration.
The many timbered houses with terracotta decoration that line the lanes of the old town, are wonderfully evocative of the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. On one corner the wanderer suddenly finds himself 'nose to nose' with Cyrano whose statue proudly reminds the visitor that Bergerac owes some of its fame to this historic figure. Not surprisingly the annual theatre 'Le Festival du Théâtre' is named after him.
A great way to tour the vineyards is by following the designated Route des vins where the visitor will be welcomed by the growers and encouraged to try their wines. The Bergerac region is sometimes called Périgord Pourpre the name deriving from the rich purple-red wines that characterize this area of Périgord.
When the subject of 'gastronomy' is raised it is usually associated with a particular region and the Périgord stands in high regard in this field. The traditional produce, such as truffles, walnuts, strawberries and the wines, together with the well-known rich specialties derived from fattened geese and ducks, is largely responsible for this fame.
Don't miss a trip to La Roque-Gageac, a stunningly beautiful village under the towering cliffs. The village regularly wins France's 'Prettiest Village' competition. Good canoeing centre here.
Competing with La Roque-Gageac in the prettiness stakes is the village of Carennac. Elevated just above the South bank of the Dordogne river, it is best known for its typical Quercy architecture and Romanesque priory. Further Romanesque art at the Saint-Pierre church in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne.
Perhaps the most famous of the Dordogne tourist attractions are the cave paintings around Les Eyzies. There are more pre-historic caves in this area than you could ever visit in a day! Les Eyzies lies at the heart of an unspoilt area of great natural beauty with rolling hills, tranquil rivers and fascinating cliff and rock formations. It has some of the world's most beautiful caves with outstanding stalactite and stalagmite crystallizations. And the cave-lined Vézère valley has been classified as a heritage site by UNESCO. The most well-known of all is the cave at Lascaux which was discovered in 1940. The paintings date back some 17,000 years.
Sarlat-la-Canéda features the highest concentration of medieval, Renaissance and 17th century facades of any town in France. Nowadays, it's a bustling market town with a huge range of outdoor café bars and restaurants.

Perfect little getaway.
So pleased that we came to stay at Maison Meunier. The cottage was perfect for our family holiday with plenty of space for the four of us but still with that cosy feel. It was lovely to be able to come home after our exploring and relax with the kids by the pool in the afternoon sun. The location was great and we had more than enough options for places to go. Thanks for helping us create some great family memories.

Beautiful cottage.
After staying in Maison Meunier last year with the whole family, my wife and I returned this year. It is well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker and BBQ on the terrace. The pool is right beside the cottage and is immaculate. The owners are marvellous hosts and we are looking forward to returning again, next year, for another relaxing holiday.

Private pool in perfect surroundings.
Maison Meunier is a great little find. I stayed in the larger house last year so was excited to return to the area. Inside there are 2 good sized bedrooms, clean bathroom and kitchen with full facilities and a stylish and spacious living and dining area. And then there is the outside...! There is a beautiful pergola covered terrace with BBQ which is perfect for al fresco dining and evening chats over a bottle of wine (from the local vineyard of course). The pool has stunning views over fruit trees, the fishing lake and forest covered hills in the background. It feels very private and isn't overlooked. The pool is immaculate and perfect size for playing / floating / chilling. The pool area also has sun loungers and a covered portion for the shade seekers. The area of Saint Front-Sur-Lemance is beautiful. Very sleepy and laid back but has all the best necessary amenities within a 5 minute walk (shop, cafe, Albert's pub) or 10 - 15 minute drive (Blanquefort-sur-Briolance for moules frites at Auberge des Moulins or Fumel for bigger shops and 25m outdoor pool). The owners are great hosts; not intrusive but always nearby to provide advice or help if needed. We can't wait to return next year.

Perfect romantic getaway.
Maison Meunier is set in the beautiful grounds, next to the old mill, overlooking the lake. The cottage is beautifully furnished and has its own patio and pool. The facilities are superb, the grounds are well manicured, lovely for walks and there is a fabulous games room where you can meet up with other guests for a drink and a chat and maybe a game of pool. A stroll into the village to sample the local fair is a must, the villagers made us very welcome. There are a number of local market towns (bastides) and châteaux close by including Monpazier a lively bastide with many shops and restaurants to enjoy. The owners were really helpful with advice on where to go and what to do, they couldn't do enough for us. Fabulous holiday.

Beautiful property in a stunning location.
Set in a wonderful place. The owners are such lovely hosts always attentive and very helpful. They are doing a great job at lovingly restoring these properties with beautiful touches. We loved out time in the Lot, thank you so much.

Lovely retreat set amongst fruit trees.
We stayed at Maison Meunier for the middle week of a three week honeymoon in France. After spending the previous week in Paris it was the perfect contrast allowing us to slow the pace down a little and put our feet up.
On arrival we were greeted by the owners who were very friendly and helpful offering advice when required. They're based on site but away from the property in the main buildings.
The accommodation itself is lovely and really well equipped with everything you could ever need. Outside, the pool is great for cooling off during sunbathing and the view from the terrace is beautiful with quince, apple and fig trees between the property and the nearby lake. We spent most evenings cooking on the barbecue with the fabulous local produce we picked up from the market or supermarket.
Nearby there are a number of châteaux to explore and also traditional bastide towns to wander round and grab a coffee or cold glass of champagne.
All in all, a lovely stay at a lovely place. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
