Local amenities in Arzacq include café bars, restaurants, supermarket, pharmacy, fish shop, bakery, grocery store and newsagent. Saturday market.

Within 20 minutes of the house it is possible to visit other busy market towns like Aire-sur-l’Adour, spa towns like Eugénie-les-Bains with its world famous restaurants, wine areas like Madiran.

There are many, many restaurants in the area to fit every budget.

Hypermarkets and all shops in Pau.

Tourist Tax
Where applicable, Pure France is required to collect and remit local government tourism taxes on behalf of our property owners. These taxes are calculated and collected from guests at the time of booking. Pure France then remits collected taxes to the applicable tax authority on the property owners' behalf.
For this property tourist taxes are due between 01 January and 31 December and will not exceed € 0.90 per adult per night.


Location

The property is 3 km from Arzacq which is a thriving market town with several restaurants and bars. Café de Sports is our favourite restaurant with a terrace under arches overlooking the square and with fabulous food at great prices.

Arzacq is well provided with supermarket, boulangerie, patisserie, fish shop, newsagent, pharmacy and medical centre. Tennis courts (beside the school).

The South West is known to have some of the finest rural restaurants in France. Must visit culinary destinations within a short distance of the house are:

- Morlanne (15 km), an exceptional medieval bastide, hosts "Cap é Tôt" run by a superb and creative chef (and two smaller restaurants)

- Eugenie-les-Bains (20 km), is a beautiful spa town with the world famous les Pres d'Eugenie hotel, sap and Michelin 3-star restaurant. But its sister restaurant La Ferme aux Grives is a must visit. There are beautiful walks and other restaurants in Eugenie-les-Bains

- Madiran (30 km), the centre of one of the best know wine appellations in the region, hosts Le Prieure beside the Maison des Vins.

Pau (30 km) is the political capital of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. The historical centre of Pau is dominated by the château which was the ancestral home of Henry IV, King of France. The in the 19th century the city developed with an architectural style reminiscent of Paris. The town is impressively situated on a cliff above the river that carries its name and has impressive views of the Pyrenees (40 km to the South).

Pau hosts an impressive array of shops and restaurants and the largest food market in the region, Marche de Pau, Place de la République (6am - 1pm Monday to Saturday). Hypermarkets and the commercial centre are located nearby in Lescar.

Day trips to Biarritz (1 hour 30 minutes), San Sebastian (1 hour 50 minutes), Bordeaux (1 hour 50 minutes), Toulouse (2 hour 10 minutes) are all easily manageable as access to the autoroute is about 5 minutes from the house.

We had a great time at Maison Dusire and particularly enjoyed the tranquil setting. The house offers complete privacy in stunning grounds, surrounded by beautiful countryside. It's clearly a well loved and well maintained property and in many ways is even prettier than the pictures. If you're looking for a large property that is excellently furnished in rural France sitting amongst rolling hills and pretty villages, this is the house for you.
