Architectural design with natural light and wonderful reflections

What is the most important element of architectural design?

Light.

Natural light; ambient lighting; shadows; the interplay of light and shade; these are what exalt a house to a beautiful space which can positively influence the moods and emotions of its occupants.

From the moment you enter Maison Occitane, you are struck by the natural light and by the wonderful reflections - of the shimmering pool; the leafy trees - that dance on the floors and ceilings.
As the sun moves around, each stage of the day offers a different spectacle - the delicate early morning sunshine bathing the bedrooms; later on, subtle shards through doorways; later still, a cascade of rich light down the expansive stairwell.

"Space and light and order. Those are the things that men need just as much as they need bread or a place to sleep." - Le Corbusier.

"More and more, so it seems to me, light is the beautifier of the building." - Frank Lloyd Wright.

The beautifully renovated Maison Occitane is located in a picturesque village in the Languedoc-Rousillon near the world famous Canal du Midi.
It sleeps 10 people and has a private pool, home cinema, table tennis and is a short walk to amenities.

Getting there.

Less than 1 hours drive from three airports - Béziers, Carcassonne and Perpignan.
By train the nearest station is Narbonne, just a 15 minute drive from the property.
