Dine 'al fresco' on a sunny summer holiday in the Dordogne

In France, they take their food very seriously and mealtimes are to be savoured. Dining outdoors can be a rare occurence in the UK, but if you treat the family to a self-catering holiday in the Dordogne you can make the most of the warm summer weather and dine 'al fresco' every day.

The Dordogne region of France has miles of beautiful open coutryside and many holiday homes have a huge amount of outdoor space and privacy, something else that can be lacking in holiday homes in the UK.

Our Dordogne holiday villas and châteaux all have private pools and most have large grounds and gardens. Some have acres of grounds, wonderful countryside views and no neighbours in sight.

There is just something about eating outdoors with your family and friends around you on a balmy summer evening. That's why the outdoor space of a holiday rental house should be as comfortable and stylish as the indoor space.
These Dordogne holiday rental properties really get it right with fabulous outdoor dining terraces.

Go gourmet in the Gascony

Château Saint-Aignan offers a classy dining terrace which would not look out of place outside a gourmet restaurant.
The sheer white curtains add a lovely ambiance to this terrace with comfortable rattan chairs and stylish glass topped table.
The matching sofa makes a great spot for settling down with a good book and a glass of wine.
