Mercantour National Park in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence

Situated in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Alpes-Maritimes departments, the Mercantour National Park covers an area of 685 km².

Since its creation in 1979, it consists of forests and snowy peak with summits reaching more than 3,000m.

Visitors to the park can walk the 600 km of marked footpaths whilst enjoying the wide variety of fauna, flora and mixed landscapes with seven valleys to explore along with many lakes including Lake Allos, Lake Lauzanier and Lake Vens.

Enjoy canyoning, caving, waterfalls, climbing and absailing in the Maglia Canyon in the Vesubie Valley. Cross rope bridges and take a zip-line in the Roya Valley.
