Lagrasse Abbey in Occitanie

Sainte-Marie de Lagrasse Abbey is an abbey located in the town of Lagrasse in the Aude department in the Occitanie region. A Benedictine monastery from the 8th century to the 18th century, the abbey was sold as national property during the French Revolution and divided into two lots.

Bastille Day - July 14th

July 14th has become a national holiday in France as well as a public holiday. It was established to commemorate the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, symbol of the end of absolute monarchy. July 14th gives rise to a military parade on the Champs-Elysées in Paris, at 10 am just after the passing ofthe guard of France.
