History Of The French Football Shirt

uThe clothing of the French football team has undergone, since its first official match (against Belgium, in 1904) and throughout its history, a number of changes. The color blue did not end up establishing itself as the main jersey until after the First World War in 1919 with the creation of the French Football Federation; previously, white reigned supreme with or without stripes before 1914, relegating the blue jersey to the state of spare clothing. The blue jersey is however so associated with the France team in the French collective unconscious that talking about the "Blues" is like talking about the national team.
