Hossegor - Atlantic Coast seaside and surfing town

Hossegor is an Atlantic Coast beach resort set amongst the pine trees of the Landes between Biarritz and Arcachon. A continuous stretch of fine golden sand extends from here 150 km north to Arcachon. Hossegor’s main street looks more like California than France with a surf shop on every corner and surfers in VW campers laden with surfboards.

The superb beaches of fine sand opposite the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean, the surfing schools, the marine lake and its long walk lined with themed information boards, the 18-hole golf course, the forest walks, the Basque-Landais style Sporting Casino, elegant 1920-1930s villas nestling under the pines, boutiques, cafés, bars and restaurants, as well as many summer entertainments and surfing competitions, all make this a prized holiday destination.

The northern beaches of Les Landes are fringed by peaceful pine forests that are perfect for walking and picnicking. You can hire bikes and explore 40km of cycle tracks along rural lanes, forest trails and even the hard sand at low tide from Les Casernes to Les Estagnots.
