Le Grau Du Roi

The former French fishing village of Le Grau Du Roi in the Gard is a modern and popular seaside resort with a true Mediterranean atmosphere.

It is the first marina in Europe and welcomes all types of boats.

The streets with its bars and restaurants are bustling with tourists during the summer months.

The Mediterranean coast offers a range of water sports and beach bars.

The Espiguette lighthouse

Lost in the middle of the sand dunes and recognisable thanks to its original square shape and its black color visible from the sea, the Espiguette lighthouse has been lighting up the coast and guiding sailors for more than 150 years. It is still active and dominates the tip of the legendary Espiguette beach. Let's discover together the history of a unique place with an exceptional natural heritage.

It has been listed as a historical monument since 2012. L'Espiguette is part of the Grand Site de France de la Camargue Gardoise.

The Espiguette lighthouse accessible to the public! A 360° view from the top of the lighthouse.

Climb its 111 steps to the top of the lighthouse tower and admire the spectacular view.

The tour of the lighthouse tower takes place in groups of 10 people with departures every 30 minutes. Go to www.phare-espiguette.fr to book your visit (Reservation required).
