Maison Lamonzie offers holiday makers a warm welcome

This rural house dating back to the 17th century is entirely part of the Frais Vallon property. The farmer working on the domaine and his family used to live in the house until recent times.

The last renovations in the house were undertaken to install modern day comforts while preserving authentic features of the building: its large stone fireplace, its oak beams as well as its cobblestone flooring (with river pebbles). These features are typical of rural buildings in Périgord but this quality and these dimensions are rare for a house of that size. The cobblestone floor, usually used to cover one-level buildings floors (the church of Lamonzie-Montastruc), it is very unusual for first floors except for some castles (château de Montastruc) because of its weight.

Although located in the centre of the village, you will enjoy complete calmness and tranquility, protected by the high stone walls and greenery that surrounds the property.

Open the gate and come in.

The courtyard is sheltered under the shade of a one hundred year old, 23-metre high lime tree. In June, at its full blooming period, the whole tree seems to be buzzing with many bees foraging its flowers. You will enjoy the exhilarating perfume of its thousands of flowers. That tree was planted in 1870 for the wedding of the marquis de Vassal-Montviel's daughter, he gave the Frais Vallon property as a dowry on that occasion.

Why not with a glass of Monbazillac or Pécharmant

Later in the season, while on the terrace on the edge of the pool, you will enjoy the coolness of the evenings here, why not with a glass of Monbazillac or Pécharmant: experience some of the French art de vivre.

The ideal base to discover the Dordogne and Vézère valleys

The village of Lamonzie-Montastruc is located 18 minutes from the centre of Bergerac and its emblematic market and 15 minutes from Bergerac airport. It's the ideal base to discover the Dordogne and Vézère valleys.

Lascaux II, La Roque-Gageac and many more

It's closeness to the major sites of the Périgord will enable you to discover a multifaceted region: Lascaux, La Roque-Gageac, Domme, Sarlat, Monpazier, Biron, Cadouin, Saint-Avit-Sénieur, Monbazillac, and many more.
