The UNESCO World Heritage site of Saint-Émilion is one of the most famous and prettiest wine-producing towns in the world.

Lovely restaurants and wineries. The town is blessed with impressive Médiévale architecture, including an entire church carved out inside a hill.

A walk up to the tower is well worth the effort for beautiful panoramic pictures of the surrounding vineyards that go on as far as your eye can see.

Naturally the main focus is on the wine trade and tours of the châteaux and wine tasting can be arranged at the local tourist office.

Explore the many vineyards open for wine-tasting; also many of the stores in Saint-Émilion will ship the wine to your home address.
