The lakes and gorges of Languedoc / Occitanie

Summer has finally arrived and the days are warm. You are looking for a water point to refresh yourself and spend a pleasant moment in the heart of the nature of Occitania. Gorges, lakes, ponds, Occitanie offers you a large choice of quality water points for swimming.

The gorges

The Gorges du Tarn, Gorges de l'Aveyron, prepare your towel and swimsuit to take full advantage of the view that awaits you.

In the Hérault, the Gorges d'Héric

Reaching the Gorges d'Héric requires a bit of walking, this idyllic corner with their basins in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park.

Lakes in Occitania

In the Hérault with the lake of Salagou, or in Ariège at the lake of Montbel with more than 600 hectares of surface.

Lake Saint-Ferreol

One hour from Toulouse you will find the lake of Saint-Ferreol, near the Bastide de Revel at the foot of the black mountain. You will find small beaches there, or you can why not venture into places a little more remote and wild.

The lake of the mountains Above Castres in the Tarn, the Lac des Montagnès. 25 hectares with supervised swimming, fine sand beach, water games, fishing area, fitness trail around the lake and tree climbing park.

Salagou Lake In the department of Hérault, the lake of Salagou (7km long) offers numerous reception and leisure facilities and is a very popular center of tourism. Fishing, nautical activities, swimming, mountain biking and hiking, an ideal place for nature lovers.

Sarrans lake Between Aveyron and Cantal, you can stroll through this corner of paradise, refreshed by the pure waters of Lake Sarrans, with some pretty houses, a chapel, a restaurant and a campsite.

Cascades

Discover the Cascades du Sautadet near La Roque-sur-Cèze. They are sometimes heavily frequented by tourists in high season but still remain a wild and spectacular place.

Be careful, the place remains dangerous, be sure to follow the instructions and swim in the secure areas.

The Cascades de la Vis

Near the Cirque de Navacelles, the tumultuous Vis is a perfect playground for cooling off in the beautiful landscapes of the Hérault. Are you on vacation in Occitanie? In search of nature and tranquillity... Discover the many water points for a moment of freshness.

The Autoire waterfall Emblematic site of the Dordogne Valley, the circus is formed by high limestone cliffs 150 to 200 m high. The waterfall is the highest in the department with 30m in height, it is a corner of freshness and very relaxing and rejuvenating. Take a 1.2km path from the car park to reach the waterfall.

Ars Waterfall Located in the Regional Natural Park of the Pyrenees Ariégoises, at an altitude of 1380 m, it stretches over 246 m in height, it is an essential site in the Ariège. Access is from the thermal village of Aulus-les-Bains, a small mountain village located at an altitude of 750m in the Garbet valley. A very pleasant environment in the heart of nature: forests, streams, stone houses with slate roofs.
