This year, it will be the first Grand Départ from Italy and the 26th from abroad with the arrival in Nice.

The Tour de France will pass by the Cherry Farmhouse on July 11, more precisely in Fumel, Monsempron-Libos and Monflanquin.

A tourist region

Monflanquin (10 minutes away) is an old bastide with winding streets and fabulous views. All amenities in the village including large supermarket, cafes, restaurants and bakeries.

This region of France is one of the most beautiful and popular. A beautiful countryside enamelled with medieval bastides and fairy tale castles rising above the morning mist.

You will find many antique markets throughout the year. Do not hesitate to find all the information at the tourist information office.

The Château de Lanquais

The Château de Lanquais is located in the municipality of Lanquais in the Dordogne department. It dates from the 15th and 16th centuries. It was classified as a historical monument on July 8, 1942.

Medieval construction that recalls all the components of a fortified castle.

Renaissance construction that was grafted into the medieval castle to become a ceremonial construction made for the pleasure of life, thanks to which it contains exceptional portico fireplaces in carved stone at the end of the 15th century.

You can discover throughout the visit the alliance of a fortified castle and a Renaissance palace, you will also discover throughout the guided tours the apartments decorated with precious furniture. The cellars and underground houses some elements of the prehistoric collection of Viscount Alexis de Gourgue as well as their use at the time.

La Roque-Gageac

The Roque-Gageac is nestled between the Dordogne river and steep cliffs, it is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, its historical architecture and its unique climate that allows Mediterranean plants to prosper.

You will find Fort Troglodyte, used as a defensive position during the Middle Ages. The church of Saint-Sacerdos, Romanesque church offers an overview of the religious history of the village and a panoramic view of the surroundings, Château de Malartrie, a magnificent castle located on the outskirts of the village and representing Renaissance architecture.

Carennac

Ranked among the "Most Beautiful Villages in France," Carennac is renowned for its medieval heritage, its stone houses and its enchanting setting on the banks of the Dordogne.

Priory of Carennac, this religious complex includes the church of Saint-Pierre, a cloister and the Château des Doyens. The church, with its magnificent 12th-century carved tympanum, is a remarkable example of Romanesque art.

Château des Doyens, this medieval castle, located next to the church, houses a museum presenting local history and archaeology.

Maison de la Sirènen, an emblematic half-timbered house dating from the 16th century, with a mermaid sculpture on the facade.

Les Eyzies, the most beautiful caves

Les Eyzies is in the heart of a preserved region of great natural beauty with hills, quiet rivers and cliffs and fascinating rock formations. It has some of the most beautiful caves in the world with exceptional concretions of stalactites and stalagmites. The best known of all is the Lascaux cave, discovered in 1940. The paintings are 17,000 years old.

Sarlat-la-Canéda

It is famous for its remarkably well-preserved historic center and its Renaissance architecture. Strolling through the cobbled streets of Sarlat is like traveling back in time.
