The Winemakers of Foncalieu

History…

Les Vignobles de Foncalieu is a famous wine co-operative based near Carcassonne in Occitanie (Languedoc). Their vineyards stretch from the Corbières to Carcassonne, down to the Mediterranean coast. Between the sea and the mountains, the winegrowers cultivate 4000 hectares of vines, in order to produce quality grapes that then creates exceptional wines. Since 1967, the wine-makers of the co-operative have brought spirit, innovation, passion and authenticity to their craft, to create 'one of the 50 most recognised wine brands in the world' - Drinks International Magazine, 2017.

Their objectives areto move towards responsible development, a territorial commitment while encouraging sharing and solidarity. Examples: - Develop new know-how while maintaining the maintenance of mutually beneficial relations with the territory. - Support for the vineyard in a sustainable viticulture practice approach ("protection of biodiversity, drip irrigation, installation of grass strips, etc.) - Environmentally friendly culture. - Developing organic wines. - Waste, sorting, and recycling in the associated cellars.
