Visit to Port Balaguier, La Seyne sur Mer
Fort Balaguier in La Seyne-sur-Mer is located in the Var, not far from Toulon. The Fort is a military construction built by Vauban in 1636.
In 2008, a botanical garden was created in the image of a Plant Odyssey which recalls all the species that have come from elsewhere since the 17th century. It is set up within the fort with cacti, medicinal plants, aromatic, exotic, Asian and even Australian plants. Since 2022, the fort has hosted an immersive device which allows visitors to dive into the heart of the underwater world using virtual reality headsets.
