Wind Gruissan Challenge, a flagship event in Gruissan
Every year the Chalets beach in Gruissan becomes the scene of a unique event in the world: the Wind Challenge. From May 23 to June 1, 2025, this 23rd edition promises total immersion in the world of Glisse, bringing together windsurfers, kitesurfers and wingfoil enthusiasts from all over the world.
Legendary Sea Marathon
The Wind Challenge is more than a competition: it's a human and sporting adventure. Each round offers a 40km course, i.e. two round trips between Gruissan and Port-la-Nouvelle, to be completed in one go. The participants, whether they are professionals, amateurs, launch together, offering a great show! Gruissan is famous for its tramontane and offers ideal conditions for these challenges. This strong and regular wind, blowing perpendicular to the beach, allows fast edges, on still water, guaranteeing strong sensations.
Wind Challenge - Three disciplines

Kite Challenge: from May 23 to 25, 400 kitesurfers will compete on long-distance courses, testing their endurance and technique.
Wing Challenge: from May 26 to 28, 500 wingfoil enthusiasts will start for spectacular races, mixing sliding, flights above the waves.
Wind Challenge: from May 29 to June 1, 1500 windsurfers, aged 13 to 76, will come together for the largest world gathering in the discipline.
Each of these events is open to all, offering a unique opportunity to share the passion for skiing, whatever your level.

Beyond the sporting event, the Wind Challenge is also a friendly and festive atmosphere. The village of sliding, extends over 7,000 m² and hosts more than 50 brands exhibiting the latest innovations in equipment. Animations, demonstrations and evening concerts that punctuate the event, creating a unique atmosphere where you will find sport, conviviality and music! You will also find emblematic figures from the world of skiing, such as Antoine Albeau, multiple windsurfing world champion. Or Liam Dunkerbeck, wingfoil prodigy, offering participants and spectators moments of exchange and unforgettable sharing.
