The formation of the Dune - a 4000 year history

How was the Dune du Pilat formed?

The accumulation of sand occurred discontinuously over time with periods of cold, dry wind which allowed the accumulation of sand.

A 360° view

At the top of the Dune du Pilat, you will enjoy an overhanging view of the green forest, but also of the Arcachon basin and the ocean. A wonderful color palette. A breathtaking blend of land and sea.

Nothing but sand, transparent water, pine forests, plank huts. Jean Hugo, great grandson of Victor Hugo

How to get there?
