Easter holidays

Easter will be celebrated on April 17 this year. Easter is celebrated each year on the Sunday following the spring full moon.

For believers and practitioners, before Easter there are forty days which are called "Lent", a period which is traditionally devoted to fasting, prayer and sharing.

But Easter is above all chocolate egg hunts and family dinners.

Bells, Easter chocolates and Pascal lamb

Among the most important symbols are the bells which bring the Easter eggs and the Paschal lamb which is supposed to be eaten as a family.

Traditions that date back to Antiquity:

It was customary since ancient times to offer painted eggs to celebrate the arrival of Spring.

In the Middle Ages, it was during this period that the church decided to ban the consumption of eggs during Lent. The eggs laid during these forty days were kept until Easter.

These are then transformed into chocolate eggs from the 19th century.
