Notre Dame de Fourvière, not to be missed in Lyon

From the top of “the hill that prays”, the basilica dedicated to the Virgin Mary is classified as a historical monument. It is part of the Lyon site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The interior of the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière is made up of two superimposed churches, with extraordinary volumes, accessible from the square. The church is decorated with 6 stained glass windows that provide natural light highlighting the rich decor of this emblematic basilica.

Fourvière in the world

Millions of visitors flock each year from all over the world to come and visit the site of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. In addition, the crypt now houses 11 statues of virgins, from shrines around the world, such as Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, China, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Philippines, Africa and Lebanon.
