Solomon's story

Salomon was born in the French Alps, in Annecy in 1947.

François Salomon, helped by his wife and his girlfriend, manufactures ski edges.

19 years later, Salomon, still in winter sports footwear, invented "the first binding equipped with an automatic heel piece" (taken from the Salomon website) which will be worn by Olympic athletes.

Salomon became the world leader in the field of bindings in the 1970s.

It was not until the 90s that the company launched into summer sports and marketed its first hiking shoes.

Salomon equipment is worn by several top athletes, Kilian Jornet (named Adventurer of the Year by National Geographic in 2018) or athletes who will win 18 medals in total at the 2018 Olympic Games.
