Villa Esterel, a memory that will always stay with you

Let me take you to a south facing hillside where generations have sat enjoying the spectacle of a medieval village with an incredibly beautiful castle. Illuminated at night, perched on its resplendent peak with the tiny circles of medieval houses nestling below resembling a huge ochre petticoat tumbling down to the valley.

To the right a further view down the valley which before the war grew flowers for the perfumery town of Grasse but now is laid to open fields. In spring one looks down on the rising wood smoke, the irises and white cherry blossom. If you are really fortunate in the early morning you may be privileged to witness cloud below you in the valley and the castle rising through - an unbelievably beautiful moment.

A view created in heaven and one we love to share with you our guests

The ever changing seasons bring their own beauty to this view. The castle, the village and the valley are constant but change from the verdant green to a dryer beauty. Soft cloud like olive trees become more dominant exposing their never changing softened foliage until the leaves finally fall from their friends the oaks. This in turn ushers in the early evenings, the fire is lit in the sitting room and twinkly lights below on the plain. Each day that dawns and the spectacular sun sets one witnesses never disappoint - it is quite simply a view created in heaven and one we love to share with you our guests.

Every window has a view

The house itself is a little sanctuary with not one window overlooked but from where every window has a view. The biggest decision of the day is often where to sit for that relaxed lunch or glass of wine. Many guests arrive with lists of things to do but soon fall under the spell and spend all their time at the house only venturing out to the farmers market or the village place to watch the world go by.
