Gastronomy, nature and heritage in the south west of France

Southwest France is a land of traditions and breathtaking landscapes. Here, time seems to stand still between lush green hills, medieval fortified towns, and gourmet restaurants. Far from the hustle and bustle of large seaside resorts, this region reveals an authentic France, generous and full of character.

Pure France takes you on a journey of the southwest where the sweetness of life takes on its full meaning.

Gers, the soul of the southwest

In the heart of Gascony, Gers captivates with its bucolic charm and unpretentious way of life. The golden hills, rows of vines, and sunflower fields create a picture-postcard landscape. It's also a kingdom of local flavors: foie gras, duck breast, confit, Armagnac...

A generous gastronomy to savor at farmers' markets or at a country inn.

Stroll through the picturesque villages of Auch, Fourcès, or Lavardens, discover the Gascon fortified towns, and indulge in the friendly atmosphere of the summer festivals. For an unforgettable stay, rent a mansion surrounded by vineyards, with a swimming pool and panoramic views of the hills – the ultimate Pure France experience.

The Lot, between heritage and enchanting landscapes

Less well-known than the Dordogne but just as captivating, the Lot is full of natural and historical treasures. Its listed villages—Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Rocamadour, and Autoire—seem straight out of a history book. Here, the flower-lined streets and hilltop castles tell a thousand years of history.

Canoe down the river of the same name, explore the Pech Merle caves, or hike the trails of the Causses du Quercy Natural Park.

And after the effort? Enjoy a deep red Cahors, accompanied by perfectly matured Rocamadour cheese.

The Pure France villas in the Lot offer modern comforts in tastefully restored old residences—perfect for an immersion in authenticity and elegance.

The Périgord Noir, a journey through time and flavours

A land of contrasts and wonders, the Périgord Noir is a must-see for lovers of heritage and gastronomy. Its medieval villages—Sarlat, Domme, and Beynac-et-Cazenac—are among the most beautiful in France. Châteaux dominate the Dordogne Valley, markets overflow with truffles, walnuts, and foie gras, and every meal becomes a celebration of the senses. Between visits, enjoy a charming villa nestled in the forest, with an infinity pool and terrace overlooking the valley.

The Périgord also promises simple moments: a morning stroll to the market, a nap in the shade of the lime trees, a family dinner under the stars.

Villefranche-du-Périgord is located in the far south of the department, in the area of dark oak forests that gave the Périgord Noir its name. It is also the oldest fortified town in the Périgord Noir, founded in 1261 by Alphonse de Poitiers. Let's discover Le Mas Combolongue.
