The annual Le Barroux apricot festival

Experience the sweet tasting orangey-red Roussillon apricot. The annual Apricot Festival takes places on the 14th July in Le Barroux, a village situated between Carpentras and Vaison-La-Romaine in Provence. Come and celebrate with the apricot producers as this wonderfully sweet fruit is presented. Enjoy the famous abricotade drink, apricot macaroons and ice creams.

Taste the famous apricot drink, apricot macaroons and ice cream. Young and old participate in the animation of the village "spitting the apricot kernel"! The pectin and beta-carotene content of the Languedoc (Occitaine) apricot makes it naturally rich in fiber and potassium. In Languedoc (Occitaine), the apricot harvest runs from June to mid-July with four different types of apricot: Royal Roussillon, Héléna du Roussillon, Gâterie and Rouge du Roussillon.

Apricots can be used to make jams, tarts and famous the abricotade drink. Check out our selection of holiday homes in Provence this summer... https://www.purefrance.com/destinations/provence-cote-d-azur-corsica
